Obituary of Robert Joseph Waters, Jr.
We are saddened to announce the passing of our big brother, Robert Joseph Waters, Jr. of Willingboro, NJ, on December 25, 2024, a few days short of his 68th Birthday.
Brother, Bob, Bobby, "Bubbles", Mr. Waters, however you knew him.
Son of Robert J. Waters, Sr. and Eloise M. Waters, nee Eichinger (deceased).
He is survived by sisters: Susan (Michael) Short of Lewes, De., Kathleen Waters of Louisville, Ky. and Patricia (David) Mutschler of Davidsonville, Md.
Also survived by his nephew Robert Mutschler and his wife Allison and son Charlie, aged 2, of Odenton Md., and his niece, Margaret and her husband, Nick Howe of Morrisonville, Wi. and many cousins.
He leaves behind many friends, including some from his earliest days in school, and students whose lives he touched. He never knew how far-reaching, his influence was and how many friends he had. We will miss his smile, his wisdom, his humor, his support and his gentleness.
A graduate of Corpus Christi School, Willingboro, NJ, Holy Cross High School, Delran, NJ, and Rutgers University, Camden NJ with a B.A. in Geology, he had a passion for teaching and brought that passion back to Holy Cross HS for 40 years. Bob had a love of rocks, fossils and minerals. He was a one time DJ for radio at Rutgers, a CYO coach of softball and basketball, a little league umpire, a former boy scout and a nationally ranked chess player. He was a member of Mensa and a trivia buff. He organized and administered several Trivia Nights locally in the last few years. He loved movies and could randomly recite the Oscar winners from the past and present in just about every category. An avid reader, traveler and history buff, he spent many seasons exploring the Christmas Markets of Europe.
Cremation will be carried out by Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home in Willingboro, NJ. Visitation will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 11 S. Sunset Road, Willingboro on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass of the Christian Burial.
Internment will be at the family's convenience at a future date.
