Humbert Colón 1937 – 2024

Humbert Colón, 86, of Collingswood, New Jersey passed peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey on June 3, 2024.

Bert was born December 31, 1937 at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, New York. As a child he moved to Camden, NJ and graduated from Camden High School. Bert was a florist by trade, having worked at Mary’s Flower & Gift Shop in Stratford, NJ; Chesterbrook Flower & Garden in Chesterbrook, PA; and Eastwick’s Florists in Edgewater Park, NJ.

Bert was predeceased by his parents Paul and Sarah Colón and his brothers Paul Jr. and Henry Colón. He is survived by his siblings Sarah Navarro (Bill, deceased), Judy Hopkins (George), Edward Colón (Pat), Wanda Colón, Paula Colón and Erika Colón, Aunt Palmira Ayala, Godson Joseph Navarro, special niece Lisa Navarro, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friends Peggy Middlemore and Robert North.

Bert was a charismatic and funny man. He was also a very private man and if he let you into his inner circle then you were loved. He will be remembered for how fiercely he protected those he loved.

Bert wished to be cremated. His Memorial Visitation and Service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home located at 212 Veterans Parkway, Willingboro, New Jersey 08046 from 10 am – 11am. Interment will be private.
