Robert David Hill

Bob (Robert David Hill, DOB May 6, 1954, son of Angeline and Francis Hill) once melted his shoes running through a forest fire lit by his friends in his hometown of Freeland, PA. He went on to run marathons. Bob had great stories to tell before succumbing to pancreatic cancer on April 23, 2024 at home in Delran. His wife of 45 years, Susan May (Dodimead) Hill and his children, David Hill and Jen (Hill) FitzGerald comforted him.

It was love at first sight when Bob met Sue in a Trenton State College dorm elevator, noticing they were from the same Willingboro high school.

Bob's career was as a teacher in the NJ Department of Corrections but his other passion was construction. The family handyman helped family and friends with many projects over the years. Bob volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed church mission trips to help those in need of home repairs. His latest project was renovating the manse of the Beverly Presbyterian Church where he was Property Chairman.

When not fixing something, you could find Bob baking pies, giving voices to David's puppets, gardening, playing trumpet, or watching his Patriots and Red Sox. He also loved showing friends pictures of his grandchildren, Cora and Leena. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Tom Hill (Janet) and sisters, Mary Place (Rich) and Carolyn Hugg (Mark), his Dodimead brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, and all his beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Bridgeboro Road, Moorestown, NJ. Relatives and friends  are invited to his visitation Thursday morning, 10am to 11am, at the church. Entombment : Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
