Obituary of August L. Baker

August "Gus" Baker passed away on August 23, 2022. Gus was born in Schenectady, NY on June 27, 1945. After graduating from Mount Pleasant HIgh School, Gus immediately entered the U.S Navy where he served during the Vietnam War.

Gus worked as a quality control engineer while raising his family who he always put above and beyond. Gus loved woodworking, tinkering in his garage, Philadelphia sports, bird watching and spending time with his family.

Gus is predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Barbara Quinlan Baker. His parent's Mildred (Relyea) Ballmes, Robert Ballmes and Fredrick Baker.

Gus is survived by his three children: Brian Baker, Suzanne Kauffman (Larry), Kevin Baker (Rebecca) and three grandsons; Zachary, Alexander and Adam Kauffman: His sisters Ora Simmons and Nancy Weis (Bob) along with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, 9am – 10am at the Goes – Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, NJ. (609)871-1000. Interment with US Navy Honors will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
