John J. Borreggine Obituary

John "Johnny" Borreggine

On Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022 John "Johnny" Borreggine was called home to be with his father, Joe, Stepfather, Vincent Severino and beloved dog Ralphie.

Johnny is survived by his mother, Esther Severino, step brother Vincent Severino Jr, step sister Terri Bush, Aunts Theresa Gentek and Jenny Dagnelli, Cousins Frank & Rosemary Iula, Maria & Louis Bezich, Debbie & Rick Harrell, Steven & Tammy Tornari, Mark Tornari, Gabriella Gentek, Jasmine & John Rienstra, Joe Gentek and Deneen & Ted Kitchin, as well as many more cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.

Johnny graduated from Parris Island in 1980 with his proud mother in attendance. As a Marine, he utilized Morse code to serve his country and was a skilled marksman. Although Johnny also served as an Intelligence Officer with the US Army, it was his work as a Marine that would remain close to his heart. Unfortunately his time in the service was eventually cut short due to injury.

John Borreggine was a quiet, yet well read man who loved his family and was kind to all people. His interests as a young man were varied: skiing, archery, philosophy, biology and psychology were among his college courses. Although he could no longer participate in the more physical pursuits, Johnny kept this same curiosity alive when taking in new information or talking with people. He looked forward to a few simple things in his life: his radio, spending time with his mom and talking with his step brother, "Vinner".
