Obituary of Robert H. Etheridge

On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, Robert H Etheridge, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 76 in his Willingboro home, surrounded by family.

Robert, who was known as Bob to most that knew him, was born on June 13, 1945 to his parents Otis and Charolette in Baltimore, Maryland. There he met Darlene, who he would marry and move to New Jersey with. They purchased a house in Willingboro, NJ, where they raised their two sons, Adam and Scott. Bob and Darlene resided in their Willingboro home until the time of their passing.

Bob made an honest living as a blue collar worker throughout his long career, working hard day in and day out to provide for his family. He began working at the Continental Can Company in New Jersey shortly after moving to the state, where he would work for a number of years along with his relative Earl. He would later become employed at Kurz-Hastings in Philadelphia, PA, where he would work for many years as a lab tech, until the location's closure.

Bob was generous and caring to friends, family, and strangers alike. He always made it a point to help his neighbors in any way he could. In the spring and summer months, he could often be seen on his tractor mowing his neighbors' lawns, and during the winter months he would use his snow blower to assist his neighbors to clear the sidewalk whenever a Nor'easter brought snow to the area.

Family was very important to Bob, and he made it a point to visit his relatives across the east coast whenever he had time. He was close to his cousin Ed for most of his life, and enjoyed having long phone conversations with him several times a week during his later years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Otis and Charolette. He is survived by his longtime wife Darlene, his two sons Adam and Scott, and his cousin Ed, among many other loving family and friends.
