Maxine Marcell Daniels Pryor Sulek

Maxine Marcell Daniels Pryor Sulek was born in Lacey, Arkansas on July 4, 1935. She was the seventh and youngest child of Lizzie Spencer and Reed Daniels. After her father's passing, the family moved to Corning, New York where she graduated from Corning Free Academy. Maxine proudly earned her Bachelor's degree from Keuka College and became a registered nurse (R.N.).

She married Elwood Michael Pryor in April 1957 and their union brought three children: Michele, Monique and Mark. Although they divorced, Maxine and Michael remained in close contact until Michael's passing in August 2017. She married Paul Sulek in November 1967 and their union brought one daughter, Andrea.

Maxine worked as a nurse for over 25 years, including at Rancocas Valley Hospital in Willingboro, New Jersey. After her nursing career, she taught nurse's aides in Camden, New Jersey in the 1980s. She retired and spent her remaining years caring for her children and grandchildren.

She loved the Lord and frequently shared her faith. In Corning, she was a dedicated member of Friendship Baptist Church. During her membership at Delaware Valley Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and served several ministries including Sunday School, Youth Council, Vacation Bible School and Social Committee. Most recently she was a member of Rancocas Valley Baptist Church and supported the annual Thanksgiving Dinner event. Those who entered her home were greeted as family. Maxine was loving, accepting and nurturing of all those who crossed her path.
