Leamond C. "Reb" Ramsey

Leamond C. "Reb" Ramsey, 86, of Willingboro, NJ passed away on 10/24/2021 peacefully at his home in Willingboro.

Leamond C. "Reb" Ramsey was born in McClure, VA to Douglas W and Ellen Sarah (nee. Stout) Ramsey on September 28, 1935. He went to Haysi High School in Clincho, VA and graduated in 1954. He joined the United States Marine Corps in September of 1954 and would spend the next 21 years serving his country with the Marine Corps, advancing through each of the enlisted ranks prior to being chosen for officer candidate school and finally reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant before being Honorably Discharged on June 30th, 1975; he continued his service for another 9 years in the reserves. He later worked in the private sector as a mainframe computerprogrammer in various companies and ended his working career with Temple University.

Lee enjoyed various outdoor activities and woodworking when he could. He received numerous awards from the military and the Knights of Columbus. Later in life he would volunteer his time working for the American Red Cross and the American Legion.

Lee is survived by his wife of 63 Years, Mary Ann Ramsey (nee. Auletto) of Willingboro as well as his children Cheryl Lee Cleary (spouse Brian), Dominick Ramsey (fiance Maryl), Douglas Ramsey (spouse Renee), and Mary Ann Bell (spouse Sean); grandchildren Brian Cleary Jr., Pamela Kwietkowski (nee. Cleary), Katie Ramsey, Stephanie Ramsey, Robert Bell, Michael Bell; great grandchildren Leah Cleary, Piper Ramsey and Skyleigh Kwietkowski; brothers Herman Ramsey of Michigan, Henry Ramsey of Virginia, Bobby Ramsey of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father (Ellen Sarah and Douglas Ramsey), his beloved only sister, (Edith) Fern Ramsey, brothers Raymond Ramsey, Elmer Ramsey all of Virginia, Sammy Ramsey of Kentucky.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 3,2021, 8:30am – 9:30am at the Goes – Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, NJ, (609)871-1000 for anyone wishing to pay their final respects to Lee. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Honor Corp will be present. Immediately following the visitation. Lee will be transported to the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery located at 350 Province Line Road in Wrightstown, NJ for his internment, with full military honors. There will be a small service officiated by a Catholic Priest along with the military services.
