Eileen Katherine Carr, resident of Edgewater Park, NJ died at age 94 on January 24, 2021, Burlington Woods Nursing Home, Burlington, NJ. Born January 13, 1927 in New Britain, CT. Daughter of George Skelly and Mable Callahan Skelly. Eileen was the eldest of four siblings, all are predeceased; Marion L. Skelly, R.N., Nutley, NJ., William G. Skelly, Esq., Willingboro, NJ and Frances C. Coughlin, Milford, CT.

Beloved mother of James T. Carr, Edgewater Park, NJ and Patricia Carr-Christiansen, and her spouse Peter C. Christiansen of Robeson, PA. Dedicated grandmother to Gregory B. Christiansen, Robeson, PA and Jonathan "Jack" M. Christiansen, Exton, PA.

Mrs. Carr was a teacher in the Willingboro school district for many years. She achieved her BA degree in elementary education from the University of Connecticut, and her Master's degree in remedial reading from Glassboro State College (Rowan University), NJ.

Eileen had attended demonstrations for the Equal Rights Amendment and woman's rights. She was a member of the Alice Paul chapter of the National Organization for Women, Eileen Volunteered to Teach English as a Second Language as well. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist church in Cherry Hill, NJ for 15 years.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Red Cross, UNICEF, Planned Parenthood or Covenant House in New York City.

Memorial service via Zoom February 21, 2021, 3pm, Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill, NJ

Interment will be handled by Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home, Willingboro, NJ.

Her final resting place will be in Torrington, CT alongside her beloved husband, Thomas F. Carr.

Interment :
