GIBSON, Pearl December 15, 1924 – December 31, 2020

Pearl was preceded in the rest by her husband of 41 years, Joseph Gibson.

She was a loving mother to four children – Glendel Johnson (Bill Johnson, deceased), Lendel Jones (Sherrod Jones), Joseph Lee Gibson, Deceased and Vivian Shelton (Fincourt Shelton).

Beloved "Granny" to 7 grandchildren - Sherrod "Aaron" Jones (Nellie), Shereese Baker (Kevin), Sarah Aytac (Jon), Indirah Shelton, Melech Shelton (Shalaka), Joseph Shelton and Joliese Gibson and 5 great-grandchildren; Sierra, Siani, Kevin, Aiden and Ethan.

She is survived by 3 siblings – Maggie, Jesse and Betty.

Pearl was a steadfast member of The Church of The Lord Jesus Christ of The Apostolic Faith for 69 years, as well as a faithful Mother and the National Supervisor of Women.

Mother, as she was so affectionately called, was a mother to many foster children over the years. She and her husband, Joe, had so much love to give, they opened their home to foster children and families in need while living in Mount Vernon, NY. In addition to family and friends, Pearl loved her church family dearly. She was a constant in the church and worked tirelessly to aid in the church's mission of love and salvation for all that desired it.

While living in Cape May, NJ Pearl's husband passed away. Once Joe was laid to rest, Pearl lived with and was cared for by her eldest daughter Glendel, with the help of her younger siblings, Lendel and Vivian.

Pearl was a beautiful, prayerful, loving soul. She will be missed a great deal by her friends, church members and of course her family.

Pearl will be laid to rest with her husband Joe in the Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery.

Mother Pearl Gibson will forever be remembered for her long-standing testimony, "I am in Him and He is in me" as well as her forever song, "I Woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus."

'Till morning...
