Obituary of Robert J. Volpe, II
Announcing the passing of my father Robert Joseph Volpe II is the hardest thing I have ever had to do... He was born May 16th, 1959 and deceased June 15th, 2020.
To say my father had a zest for life is an understatement. He was the life of the party who lit up the room and tore down the dance floor. He was always the first to crack a joke, weather it was the right time or not. Making people around him laugh and smile was his favorite sport (besides football).
He loved his friends and family to no end and was always there for people, even if they were a complete stranger. He always taught me to do the right thing, know your exits, be the bigger person, and catch them on the dodgeball court later. He took every day in stride, kept it moving, and didn't sweat the small stuff.
Through his legacy lives his daughter Erica Renee Otten, her husband John, his beautiful granddaughter, Geneva Louise, and grandson due to arrive in September of this year. Bob had a large family including brothers and sisters Fred Volpe (wife Laura and daughters Meredith and Lizzie), Katherine Volpe (previously deceased), Frank Volpe (wife Tammy, their daughter Logan, and his son Frank Jr.) Anette Volpe, and Rose Lunstead (husband James Lunstead, children Jenna and Alex) with many beloved friends.
Robert was born in France on the American air force base, raised (and raised hell) in Willingboro NJ, and lived in Tabernacle NJ. He created and ran Splash Pools Services for 35 years, taking care of many customers throughout burlington county which he cared for very much. He was a lover of music, fun, excitement and life. He will be missed by many, many people.
We will be gathering in memorial of Robert "Big Bob" Volpe on Sunday June 28th, 2020 at our home from 11am until 2pm. He had been cremated per his own wishes and you will be able to pay your respects and share your thoughts and stories.
Please park along the driveway and street side as well. Please be respectable of the neighbors driveways also. You are asked to come and share some time with us, but in order to accommodate everyone we will have to have people come and go.
The memorial will be from 11am to 2pm to allow for staggered arrival of friends and family. Please embrace the staggered arrival, we are not having any type of formal ceremony so you will not be missing anything. Light food and refreshments will be provided.
All are welcome who knew and loved my father. If there was anything daddy loved it was a crowd but please wear masks for close contact and bring personal use sanitizer if you have it, we do not. Under the circumstances I ask that within your power to use the bathroom before you come to limit exposure inside our home.
Please note to keep light distance from me if you are sick of any kind as I am 6 months pregnant, but you are still welcome to stop by as his remains will be outside for you to say your until next times and see you agains.
Funny stories are welcomed in notes and cards if they are hard to be expressed, because I would love to hear them, all of them. Trust me, I know his antics you won't scare or surprise me, lol.
In lieu of cut flowers we are willing to accept donations toward his final expenses, but know nothing is expected. Please know that you are all a big part of his life and therefore to mine. Thank you all If you are unable to make the event please feel free to arrange a private moment if you like **Please contact Erica Otten to confirm your attendance and recieve location details at ericaotten90@gmail.com.
