Please share a memory of Katharina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Katharina "Kay" Anna Bieniek (nee Haumann) passed March 25 , 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old.

Katharina was born on December 5, 1927 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Margareta and Heinrich Haumann. They lived on a farm and she was one of 13 siblings. During WWII she met her loving husband, the late SFC Joseph S. Bieniek, where they worked together in the mess hall that he ran for the United States Army.

They settled in New Jersey in the 1970's where they raised their three sons. She was a devoted employee for The Burlington County Times for twenty-five years where she worked in the circulation department.

She was the beloved Mother of Robert (Patricia), Joseph (Catherine), Daniel (Peggy). Proud grandmother to Jennifer Grundahl (Tony), Christina Ladislaw (Steve), Jessica Szalma (Chris), Sheri Rockhill (Chad) and Dana Bozarth (Bryan). She had 16 Great Grandchildren whom she deeply adored; Alexis, Zoe, Stella, Madelynn, Makayla, Charlotte, Kali, Kyle, Landon, Connor, Nolan, Brielle, Payton, Harper, Dakota and Colton. She is also survived by her sister Wilma Gangel (Haumann) and several nieces and nephews in Germany.

She was a lifelong resident of Willingboro, New Jersey. She loved her trips to the casino, long phone conversations with her beloved friends; Helga and Chung. She had a passion for the game of Bingo and she was a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Also an avid Philadelphia sports fan, she almost never missed a game on television. She will always be remembered as a strong, loving, generous woman and she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
