Obituary of Joseph N. Schmidt

 It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph N. Schmidt announces his passing on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the age of 87 years. Joseph Schmidt was born on August 20,1931 in Philadelphia, PA to Amelia and Nicolas Schmidt.

 He graduated from Frankford H.S. in 1949 and went on to work as a Machinist at I.T.E; eventually retired and went on as a Realtor at Lamon Associates Realty. Some of his hobbies were collecting stamps and coins as well as bike riding up into his older years.

 Joseph lived a vibrant life full of triumph as a young boy recovering from polio, experiencing true love with his wife and sweetheart Joan, and overcoming many adversities. He was known to focus on the joys of life by reminding everyone around him that, "Everyday's a good day!"

 Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his brother Jake Schmidt, wife (Nettie) Schmidt and family. Joseph will also be lovingly remembered by his children; Joseph and (Kathy) Schmidt, Deborah and (Ted) Torres, and Diane and (Michael) Schmidt-Swoope. Joseph will also be fondly remembered by his fourteen grandchildren; Joyce and (Allen) Britt, Michael and (Mae) Hill, TJ Torres, Miracle Hill, Rhein and (Nikki) Schmidt, Jennifer Schmidt, Joseph and (Melissa) Schmidt, Jonathan and (Quinette) Schmidt, Meggie and (Tim) Hollinger, Nicholas Schmidt, Rahmel Swoope, DaQuan Swoope, Nya Swoope, and Elijah Swoope. Joseph's legacy will continue to live on with his 22 great-grandchildren; Nigel, Janaya, Mondre, Aniyah, Mikaela, Loveon, Jada, Heaven, Micah, Mikey, Praise, Zoie, Taylor, Jake, Paul Jr, Ruby, Vera, Hadassah, Avery, GiGi, Tirzah, and Marlei. Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Joan Schmidt; loving father Nicholas Schmidt; and loving mother Amelia Schmidt. Joseph will also be remembered by a big host of friends and family that love him through the years.

 Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 18, 2019, 10:30am at the Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 11 South Sunset Road, Willingboro, NJ. Relatives and friends please meet directly at church. Interment : Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. In Lieu of Flowers : please make memorial donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa.,19140 in his memory.
