Obituary of Daniel J. Cahill

Daniel J. Cahill transitioned peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro, N.J. on April 28, 2018 with his devoted wife Mary (nee Ubinger) and son Chuck by his side. Born in 1939, Dan grew up in Philadelphia then moved to South Jersey where he found an early career with PSE&G and worked until retirement in 1999. Married to Catherine (nee McGurrin) in 1961 until her passing in 1996 - their son Darren, and daughter Theresa are welcoming their Dad to Heaven. He is survived by his sisters Anne Gallagher and Helen Smith, sister-in-law Diane, son-in-law Ron, and grandchildren, Samantha and Daniel. Since 1979 Cahill was a "Friend of Bill" known as "Barefoot Dan" or "Handsome Dan" in the rooms. A dedicated Flyer's fan and Catholic parishioner, he enjoyed playing poker in Atlantic City and vacationing in Quebec. Danny's friends, extended family and the waitresses at a dozen local diners will especially miss his sweetness and humor.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 5, 2018, 11am at the Corpus Christi R.C.Church, 11 South Sunset Road, Willingboro,NJ. Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning 9am – 11am at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
