Joan Frances Gaffney (nee Peel) passed away on June 4, 2026 at the age of 95. Joan was born and spent most of her life in the Kensington neighborhood. She was a long-time member of Ascension of Our Lord Church. She graduated from Little Flower High School in June of 1949.

Joan was the beloved wife of Harold who preceded her in death. They were married for 44 years and raised 7 children: Gary (Marge), Rick (Kathy), Margaret Milewski, Pat (Chuck) Nicklas, John (Lynn), and Timothy (Barbara). She was also preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn (James) Gordon. She is also survived by her sister Lois (Mac) McCuen and sister-in-law Kathy Gaffney. She was the proud grandmother of 25 grandchildren and soon to be 45 great-grandchildren spending precious time attending sports and school activities.

After raising her seven children Joan worked for over 20 years in the banking industry starting as a Safe Deposit Clerk and retired as a Head Teller/Manager and moved to the Villas, NJ. Joan enjoyed being a member of St. Raymond’s Church, volunteered as a member of the Altar Ministry cleaning linens, was a member of numerous senior clubs and participated in many activities such as ceramics, card games for pennies, many wine and cheese nights, and she enjoyed senior trips with her newfound friends. She spent a lot of time gardening and watering her flowers. Most of all she enjoyed Cape May Beach and going to the Cape May Ferry to watch the sunrise and sunsets. She spent her last five years at Brookdale Memory Care in Westampton, NJ where she had many friends and received loving care.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 8,2026, 10:30 am at the St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson,NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday Morning, 8:45am - 9:45am at the Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Veterans Parkway, Willingboro, NJ. (609)871-1000.
