Charles W. Kreischer Obituary

Charles (Charlie) Walter Kreischer went to be with the Lord on March 29,2026, at home with his family by his side. Born March 8, 1937, in Sunbury, PA, he resided in Willingboro, NJ since 1967.

His parents Calvin W. and Laura Buffington Kreischer moved to Philadelphia, PA while Charlie was a toddler. He grew up in Philadelphia until moving to New Jersey with his growing family in 1960.

Charlie wore many hats in his lifetime. Right after graduating from Overbrook High School, he enlisted in the submarine division of the US Navy and served  for eight years as a reservist. He worked for the grocery chain Penn Fruit Co. for eight years and worked eight years for UPS as a “Barn Manager”. He declined transfers, instead moving his family to Willingboro to be closer to their families. Managing yarn production companies in Philadelphia and then New Jersey where he employed his father, uncle and then his son. He was also a Real Estate salesman and then a Senior Tax Consultant with H&R Block for many years. He had many loyal clients from around the world and some of their children then became clients. He was especially proud that he was able to help Pastors with their often complicated / complex tax returns.

Charlie was a faithful, active member of Beverly Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. As an Elder there, he served on many committees. A faithful servant of God, he raised his children to love Him too, and then his grandchildren, whom he picked up each Sunday and took them to Sunday School without fail.

Charlie married his childhood sweetheart Elizabeth (Betty) Clark on November 2, 1957. They met when she was eight and he was ten. They were blessed to be married for 68 years. They lived a church-based life, living and loving their faith and their church family.

Charlie was a devoted, faithful husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. Charlie and Betty had four children all living in NJ - Carolyn (Ken) Sullivan, Catherine (Dave Halbe) Kreischer, Christine (Stephen) Bornholdt, and Charles Kreischer, Jr., grandchildren - Jeremy Duncan NJ, Amy Bornholdt (Adam Schieffer) PA, Phillip Dallmann NJ, Katie (Nick) Wetzel PA, Melissa Dallmann AZ, Grace Halbe NJ, and Matthew (Rachel) Sullivan NJ, great-grandchildren - Jacob Bornholdt PA, Teaghan Sullivan NJ, and Grady Sullivan NJ. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his younger sister Barbara Georgianni.

Charlie was a friend to all who met him, from many walks of life. A man you could count on and a true blessing to those who knew him. Charlie loved gardening, his many pet dogs that filled his life with joy and many tropical fish over the years. A lifelong Eagles fan, he enjoyed their wins (especially the Superbowl) and was saddened at their losses.

He will be missed by many near and far.

Charlie wished for a celebration of life which will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Beverly Presbyterian Church, 121 Warren St E, Edgewater Park, NJ 08010.

In lieu of flowers, Charlie and family request donations to be made to Beverly Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 500, Beverly, NJ 08010. (609)387-1117.
