Vera Valdere’ Cyrus, 89, of Willingboro, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Born December 11, 1936, to the late Alma (Collins) and Eugene Bundy of Delair, New Jersey, Vera was the eldest of two children and was predeceased by her brother, Eugene “Buddy” Bundy.

After graduating from Moorestown High School in 1954, Vera began working at Curtis Publishing Company as a proofreader and also contemplated pursuing a modeling career with Ebony magazine. However, her destiny changed courses when her good friend, Chubby, stopped by her house one day in 1957 with a nice guy that she just knew needed to meet Vera. Clarence “Cy” Cyrus, 26 years old at the time, had no intention of getting married until he was at least 35 years old. That all changed when he met Vera. They married on October 26,1957 and from this union two children were born: Keith Aaron and Jill Candace. After moving from Moorestown to Willingboro in June of 1963, Vera kept busy raising her family, and over the years, working part-time at Pomeroy’s in Willingboro, Computer Science Corporation in Moorestown and Strawbridge & Clothier in Burlington. She also was active in the community through Jack and Jill of America, and as a special needs assistant at Hawthorne Elementary School.

However, her greatest dedication came from her involvement in the Willingboro Presbyterian Church where she participated in Women’s Circle/Group, taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Elder on Session.

Vera also enjoyed traveling and she LOVED to cook (no one ever left her house hungry).

She is survived by her husband Cy, children Keith and Jill, sister-in-law, Patsy Bundy (Williams), nephew Eric Cyrus, and great-niece Mia Cyrus as well as “four-legged grandchildren”, Cooper and Sebastian and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be celebrated Thursday, February 26, 2026, 10:30am at the Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Veterans Parkway, Willingboro, NJ. (609)871-1000. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, Thursday Morning, 9:30am - 10;30 am at the funeral home. Interment : Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
