On the morning of February 14, 2026 Alastenia Morales, also known to those closest to her as Esther, joined her heavenly family.
Born in Manhattan, New York November 27, 1936 to Theresa Dicupe and Pedro Vera. Beloved Esther was one of five children. She worked for the New York Board of Education for 33 years. No passing youth was spared her preaching on the importance of a good education.
Esther was a lover of the arts, music was part of her love language, and she made sure to share her love of her culture through her food and extensive knowledge of her cultures history.
Esther is survived by her sister Milagros Medina, husband Wilfredo Morales, and three children; Louis Wilford Morales, Robert Morales, and Alastenia Gotay. She will also be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her presence brought joy, her heart was giving, and her embrace brought warmth and peace. The Lord undoubtedly greeted her, “well done, good and faithful servant.”
