Richard J Isackson


Richard (Dick) Isackson passed away peacefully November 16, 2025 at the age of 91. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend who loved to travel the world. He was a long time Willingboro resident. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 71 years Lee Isackson.  He is survived by his daughters Sue and Judy.  He was born on January 19, 1934 in Lockport NY and was the son of Swan and Gertrude Isackson.


He attended the University of Buffalo, where he joined Air Force ROTC. From there joined the Air Force in 1956 and completed his Navigator training in 1958. He served his country in the Air Force until 1963 and continued his service through the Air Force Reserves. His carrier path moved on to financial planning. He loved to learn and took many courses to become a certified financial planner and started his own businesses with his late wife Lee, Horizons Financial Planning and Horizon Investment Corp. During his career he lent his financial expertise to several organizations to which he belonged.


Dick was a tremendous volunteer of his time for which he received a Presidential Volunteerism award in addition to many others to numerous to mention.


He was a member of the Rotary Club for more than 60 years holding positions including club president and district Governor. He also oversaw the Orchid foundation and Shelterbox through Rotary. Dick led several Rotary friendship exchange groups throughout the world and hosted them in his home.


He was a founding member of the St Paul’s United Methodist Church and held several positions within the church. He was a long choir member.


Dick was a member of the TB McGuire Foundation where he served as the Treasurer, the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Armed Forces Heritage Museum.


His love of travel and volunteerism served him well in the enjoyment he had of meeting new friends and always having the knack of finding a bakery anywhere in world. His sense of humor was well known among his friends throughout the world.


Memorial Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, 11am at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 201 Veterans Parkway, Willingboro,NJ. (609)877-7034. Relatives and friends please meet at the church for the service. The Memorial Service will be followed by a luncheon at  A  Touch of Class, Delran, NJ. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
