Her hard work and perseverance paid off when she graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1959. Eager to further her education, Edythe continued her studies at Pierce Junior College, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in 1961, a testament to her commitment to lifelong learning.

She was also a member of the Willingboro Jaycees/Jayceettes, where she contributed her energy and enthusiasm to various community initiatives. Additionally, Edythe held the esteemed position of Vice Queen in the Red Hat Society Chapter 73614 where she embraced the joy of camaraderie of sisterhood and celebration. On May 29, 1965, Mrs. Munson entered into a loving marriage with Charles Augustus Munson. The couple began their life together in Philadelphia, and, in 1969, moved to Willingboro, New Jersey, where they built a beautiful home and became integral members of the church community at Christ the King. This move marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, filled with love, faith, and soon a growing family. On December 2, 1970, Edythe experienced the profound joy of motherhood when she welcomed her only son, Christopher, into the world. Her love for him was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with him.

Edythe’s Episcopal faith and deep love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was a central part of her life. She found solace and inspiration in studying scripture and enjoyed attending religious musical performances. Edythe's musical tastes were diverse, and she had a particular fondness for the songs of Engelbert Humperdinck and Nat King Cole, which often filled her home with warmth and joy. Edythe adored the holidays that celebrated the birth of her Lord, sometimes even indulging in the festive spirit during the off-season, spreading cheer and happiness wherever she went.

In February 2019, Mrs. Munson moved to the Cadbury Assisted Living Community in Cherry Hill, where she resided until her passing. During her time there, Edythe became known as a feisty and beloved member of the community. Her spirited personality and warm heart endeared her to both residents and staff, and she left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
