Marie Hartsell Obituary

Marie Hartsell, aged 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 4th, at Preferred Care at Absecon NJ.


Born in Trenton, NJ, to Anthony and Rose (nee Corrado) Sanphillips. Marie is pre-deceased by her parents, her brothers Joseph, Anthony and his wife Betty; her husband of 13 months, David Schock, husband Douglas Hartsell, and longtime friend Ward Ashton.


Marie graduated from Trenton Central High School and went to work for the State of New Jersey. She became a stay-at-home mom when she and her first husband John Severino, started a family. When her three children were grown, she went back to work for the State of NJ in the DOC at Jamesburg as a Supervisor of Inmate accounts and retired from that position. 


Marie loved her sports as much as her children. She was a lifelong, die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. She supported all the sports that her 3 children played and was at every game at Moody Park, and all the games they played with their travel teams throughout the country.


Marie is survived by her three children, daughter Donna Severino and daughter-in-law Kelly, daughter Patty Mason and son-in-law Jamie, son John Severino. Four grandchildren, Halley, Anthony, Dominic and Joey. Two great grandchildren, and four stepchildren Debbie, Terry, Doug and Tammy.


 Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, 10:30am at the Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Veterans Parkway, Willingboro,NJ. (609)871-1000. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday morning , 9:30am - 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment : Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson,NJ.
