Mr. Theodore F. Johnson Sr. (Ted) of Willingboro, NJ passed away on 30th, September 2025 after a long and dignified life. He was 97.

Born in Arnaudville, LA, on January 18, 1928, Ted was the beloved son of the late Albert and Ezora Johnson, and Ted was the second oldest and eldest son of eight siblings: Ruth (deceased), Jack (deceased), Alberta (deceased), Ernest (deceased), Betty (deceased), Billie, and Judy.

Ted was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 64 years, Dorothy M. Johnson (9th, December 2019). Ted is survived by six loving children Dominic (Gwendolyn), Agatha Sample (Alfonso), Patrick (Joyce), Gerald, Anita Fellenz (Terrance), and Theodore Jr. (Sherry), as well as 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ted grew up in Globe, AZ where he loved to dance, play cards, play tackle football, and enjoyed going to rodeos. He attended the University of Arizona to study architecture. Unfortunately, he was not able to complete his degree and was drafted into the Army for the Korean War in 1950. He served in the Army Signal Corps. for 24 years. While in the Army and visiting his family in Phoenix, AZ, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Mouton. Ted and Dorothy married on June 28th, 1955, and the family made their home both near and far while Ted was in the Army, including Georgia, Arizona, and France (Poitiers and Verdun) before permanently settling in Willingboro, NJ in 1966. Ted served in the Vietnam War for two tours in the early and late 1960s. He worked for the US Post Office for a short period of time after retiring from the Army at the rank of Sergeant 1st Class. Later, he worked as a buyer for the State of New Jersey in the Dept. of Human Service for 42 years, and retired at the age of 86. Ted loved math and he would sit for hours solving math problems or working on word puzzles. He was a loving father where his ensured that his family had all that they needed. He loved to make jokes, but most of all stressed obtaining a good education.

The viewing will be on Oct. 4th , 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, NJ, followed by a Memorial Service on Oct. 4th, 10:30 am at the funeral home; entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park 1300 Route 130, Cinnaminson, NJ.
