





Obituary of Joseph Paul Zarzaca, Sr.
Joseph Paul Zarzaca, Sr., [Joe], of Willingboro, NJ, passed away on April 9, 2025, in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Joe was born in Fort Lee, NJ to Pietro (Peter) and Sarafina (Sarah) Zarzaca on July 28, 1931. He went to Burlington High School, NJ and graduated in 1950. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Lakeland Business Institute, Florida.
He started a 40+ year career in public service serving in the National Guard, the United States Marine Corps, as a police officer in Burlington City, and then he became the first Willingboro Police Sergeant when the Police Department was founded. He finished his career in public service as the Registrar for Willingboro Township Schools.
He was passionate about his family & friends, singing, baseball, and playing golf. He was a great supporter of the military and achieved the honorary rank of Sgt. Maj, with the Burlington County Military Affairs Committee.
Married for 64 years, Joe is survived by his wife, Janet (Winner) Zarzaca; his children Joseph Jr. (Susan), James, and Jeryl; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter; 13 nieces and nephews; two brothers and one sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Sarah, one nephew and two nieces.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 10am at the Goes - Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Veterans Parkway, Willingboro,NJ, (609)871-1000. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday morning , 9am - 10am, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson,NJ.
