Cecilia Catherine ("Ceil") Lawlor, 83 years old, formerly of Willingboro, NJ passed away on August 17, 2021, in Scotch Plains, NJ.

Cecilia was born in Irvington, NJ to Martin J. and Catherine M. Lawlor on March 30, 1938. She attended Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ for three years before moving to Mt. Holly, NJ. Following graduation, she attended Glassboro State College, graduating 1960 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education before beginning a long career teaching in Willingboro schools.

Cecilia was a talented member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America creating beautiful works of needlework art. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Willingboro, where she played organ, piano, sang with the choir, as well as singing with the Trenton Diocesan Choir for many years. She traveled the world with friends during the summer vacation months, and year 'round with her sacred choirs.

Since 2013, Cecilia has resided at Sunrise Senior Living of Westfield, NJ in the Memory Care wing. Until she was gradually robbed of the ability, she brought joy to residents and staff with her piano playing. Even when she could no longer speak, she hummed along to familiar melodies. Her namesake was St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, and her family is grateful for the gift of music that sustained her throughout her life.

Cecilia is survived by nieces Dana (Lawlor) Dunlevy, Marilyn (Lawlor) Pellicone, Patricia (Lawlor) Morgerson, nephew Thomas J. Lawlor, a great-niece, three great-nephews, and a great-great nephew. She is pre-deceased by her parents and brother, Thomas M. Lawlor.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 10am at the Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Pkwy., Willingboro, NJ. (609)871-1000. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday morning , 9am-10am at the funeral home. Masks are required. Private interment follows for family members at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Holly, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 11 S. Sunset Rd., Willingboro,NJ,08046 in her memory.
