I am truly blessed in this life to not only have an amazing close family, but to have always had an amazing extended family. Through my Uncle Ed and Aunt Diane, I have been shown this gift. Joe was always a presence at our celebratory gatherings at my Aunt and Uncles home, along with his lovely wife and daughters. I remember not only his presence, but his smile, conversation, humility, and his LAUGH! Heaven has indeed gained an angel. Fly high, yet rest easy, until we all meet again. To my Uncle, Aunt, and the entire Huth family, I send my love and condolences.

There is so much I could say about Uncle Joe. During my teen years, he worked for my parents construction companies. I was very blessed to have Uncle Joe be a big part of my life during those years. He was there through the best and worst times of my childhood. He was a constant I could always count on. A peace, comfort and joy with the best smile and laugh. I always loved spending time with him, even if I was quiet a lot of the time. We made Uncle Joe Logan’s Godfather because he was everything I wanted in a Godfather for her. Peace, strength and a positive presence. I wanted her to experience the Uncle Joe I knew and loved so much. MS robbed Uncle Joe of many great years in his life. Regardless, he still always demonstrated the qualities I have always loved about him. All with a great smile. It was painful when I could no longer understand what he was trying to say. I will never forget Uncle Joe and my mom (Diane Huth Vosburgh) laughing, drinking their coffee and eating whatever cake or pastry was on the table sliver by sliver until it was gone. And also his love for Pierre’s chocolate covered pretzels and love of stationary and office supplies. Through my tears, it gives me great comfort to know he is no longer suffering. I pray he knew how much he meant to me. Now he’s up in heaven with Nan & Pop, my mom & dad, Uncle Russ, Aunt Alma & Uncle Bill, Aunt Pat and all those who have gone on to heaven before us. I hope they are sitting around a table, drinking their coffee and eating cake. One sliver at a time. Love you forever Uncle Joe.

Among many things that stood out about Joe was his faith-filled resilience. Where many would have blamed God for their lot in life, Joe offered how he lived his life as an example to others. Although he admitted to me moments of despair, Joe always showed concern for others. I will miss our conversations, even when it was difficult for Joe to speak, as he was a bright guy who shared an interest in current events, science and technology, and of course, our Catholic faith. He loved his two twin girls and his devotion to his wife, Diane, was clearly evident, not just as his caregiver, but as a wife and mother. May God grant him eternal rest.

Q: What will you never forget about Joseph? A: Joey had the best laugh. He was always laughing and smiling. Spending our childhood with our cousins living close by meant we got to see each other all the time. Every birthday party was a special treat for the entire family. Joey always had a wad of chewing gum in his mouth and was eager to share. Many great memories of growing up with our cousins. Joseph, Russell, Diane, Aunt Alma and Uncle Buddy we miss you and love you all.
