MSG Benjamin J. Davis (US Army Retired) of Willingboro ,NJ, died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Virtua Rehab Center, Lumberton. He was 87.

Benjamin Jefferson Davis, or Pop-Pop as we so affectionately called him, was a husband, father, grandfather,brother, uncle and a friend.

He was born to Carrie and Jonny in Elberton, Georgia. Pop-Pop attended and graduated from the Pine Forge Academy in Pine Forge,Pennsylvania. After commencement, of which he was valedictorian, Ben enlisted in the United States Army. He was a member of the 11th Airborne Division and was stationed in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. It was in Germany that Benjamin met and married his wife of 59 years. During his time there, he was active with the Prince Hall Masons.

Ben and Inge had three boys – James, Henry, and Gregory – and he often boasted, referring to them as "My Three Sons".

Master Sergeant Benjamin Davis retired from the United States Army after 27 years to a life of spending time at home with his wife. You could often see them sharing an evening in Atlantic City with "Lady Luck".

 He is survived by his wife , Ingeborg of Willingboro, NJ, Two sons and two daughters-in-law: James (Ruth) Davis of Edgewater Park, NJ, and Gregory (Jami) Davis of West Chester, Pa., Three Grandchildren : Shayna Jackson, Myles and Peyton Davis, Brother : Joseph Freitas, nieces :Tamara Brechtel , Diana Jessie, Kristen Freitas, Nephew : Oliver Brechtel, First Cousin : Gladys Griswold, other relatives and friends.

 Funeral Services and Interment will be held , Tuesday, June 6,2017, 10:30am , at the Brig.Gen.Wm.C.Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown ,NJ. Relatives and friends please meet directly at the cemetery. In Lieu of flowers due to cemetery regulations, memorial donations may be made to : Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust – www.cst.dav.org in his memory.

" Old soldiers never die, they just fade away" – well Dad you will never fade away from our hearts. Your legacy lives on in your wife, sons and grandchildren.
